Percentile Calculator

Percentile Calculator
Calculate a percentile value from raw data or find the percentile rank of a value. Results update instantly as you edit the data.
Inputs
Enter numbers separated by commas, spaces, semicolons, pipes, or new lines. Commas are treated as separators.
Type 7 is the default in R and matches Excel PERCENTILE.INC-style interpolation.
Percentile rank uses the midrank convention: values tied with the target receive average rank.

Percentiles can differ slightly across software because more than one interpolation convention is in use. Reference check: for data 1, 3, 2, 4, the 30th percentile with Type 7 is 1.9, matching Microsoft’s published example.
Use this Percentile Calculator to quickly find any percentile from a set of numerical data or determine the percentile rank of a specific value. The calculator sorts your data automatically, supports widely used percentile conventions, shows interpolation steps with your actual values, summarizes the distribution, and provides a visual position guide. It is useful for research, education, test scores, descriptive statistics, quality analysis, and other situations where you need to understand how a value sits within an ordered dataset.
