What is an Assignment?
An assignment is a task or piece of work assigned to someone as part of a job or course of study. Assignments can be varied in their nature, but are usually given with the intention of developing the assignee’s skills and knowledge.
Most assignments will require some level of research, and often involve writing a report or an essay. In some cases, an assignment may simply require the completion of a task, such as writing a letter or creating a poster.
Assignments are often used as a way of assessing students’ understanding of course material and are usually graded accordingly. In many cases, an assignment will count towards the final grade for a module or unit of study.
